[00:00:00] Welcome to the Rosie Show. Marba. Good day.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: So, Rosie, do you remember when was the last time or how many times were you so embarrassed that you needed to cope with it?
Rosie: I had an embarrassing moment today. I felt like a complete tit, right? So
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: does it tit, tit, boop?
Rosie: yes, I felt like an idiot. Actually true. Why are we saying tits? I mean, idiot. Okay, never mind. I felt like an idiot. I was very embarrassed. So I've been applying to work to help bring some consistent income. There's a shop here called Bunnings.
Rosie: It's a hardware store and you're allowed to bring your dogs in there. And this is a shop I have applied to work at, but I haven't heard back yet. So I walk in with Tilly, I go to the customer service desk, oh excuse me, can I talk to a supervisor? And all of a sudden [00:01:00] Tilly starts barking her head out, she's lunging at people.
Rosie: I'm going oh my fucking god, like oh my god, I am so embarrassed. So I'm like bending down trying to tame her and talk to the lady and oh, it was just a nightmare. And then she's trying to call a supervisor and the supervisor is telling the staff member, no you just, the The lady just has to wait to hear back.
Rosie: We're not handling with this in store. Meanwhile, Tilly's still barking, and I'm just like, Oh my God, they now know my name, and they probably will not want to employ me because I'm the one with the crazy dog and who comes in demanding to know what's happening.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: Oh, wow. Why did Tilly behave like this? What happened? And if you work there, can you take Tilly with you?
Rosie: No, I can't. That would be nice. I think She's quite a sensitive little girl actually. She's similar to me. She was very tired. I had been playing fetch with her for over an hour and she was exhausted. [00:02:00] So really, I should have left her in the van when I went to Bunnings because her behavior isn't great when she's tired.
Rosie: She gets really ratty just like a toddler would. Hepatantrum. And I just thought, um, because I've taken her into this shop before and she's been beautiful, wonderful behavior. I just didn't think it through.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: Wow. That was embarrassing, especially
Rosie: was embarrassing.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: going to hire you.
Rosie: I know. I said to myself, yeah,
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: the people looking into the applications are not the people in the shop, probably.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: So their
Rosie: well,
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: department is not the supervisor that you were expecting to talk to.
Rosie: yeah, maybe, can they just get back to me already ruler?
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: When was, okay. We're not going to talk about this on this episode.
Rosie: Okay. Moving on then.
Rosie: Yes. That was an embarrassing moment. Tell me an embarrassing story.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: offline. Yeah. This one, this
Rosie: I feel like you have many.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: etched in my memory forever. [00:03:00] And I talked about it once already, uh, on social media.
Rosie: Oh, I think I know what it is.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: Well, there are two moments, one
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: was 12 years old or 13 years old. I never forget that. Um, to go to my house, I had to walk down the stairs and then there was a terrace for the neighbors. And then I woke up other stairs to our house.
Rosie: Yeah.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: Okay. I don't know if you know a shirt over, but it was
Rosie: Yeah. M. C. Kesha. Yeah, yeah.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: And then I walked down the stairs and the neighbor and few group of neighbors or the ladies like my mom, etc. Sit and drink and coffee. Okay. there is no way that I don't pass. Um, I them to take the stairs to my house. So they're obvious now I know they're obviously, well look who's coming down the stairs. And that day I was going up down the stairs so many times and so they're looking at me so [00:04:00] many times. And then went down the stairs. And what did I say to them? What's wrong with you? Why are you all looking at me all the time?
Rosie: You're sassy!
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: years
Rosie: attitude!
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: embarrassed I said that.
Rosie: did they respond?
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: felt embarrassed when I left, when I went back home inside. I was like, Oh shit, what did I say? That's so embarrassing. And I didn't want to see, to see their faces anymore in my life.
Rosie: How did they respond? I want to know, I want to know. What happened?
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: Well, one of the neighbors said, But, but like, you're in front of us, you're walking up and down the
Rosie: Which is a fair point. Yeah.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: Right? She's, she's fair. I didn't wait to hear more comments. I Ran the stairs, ran off to my house, and sat there thinking, that was so shitty, so embarrassing. See, [00:05:00] I still did not get over it.
Rosie: Yeah.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: All
Rosie: And how old are you? Fifty?
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: because they're all, they
Rosie: Oh my god.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: old, passed away. And I'm still living with this embarrassing memory. If they only know.
Rosie: I'm sorry.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: Oh, crazy, crazy. Yeah, this was embarrassing. And recently, I had an embarrassing moment. We were at a concert. This one, he passed away. And it's one of my favorite singer songwriters. His name is Mark Lennigan. sings the most beautiful gospel, but also I don't know what kind, alternative rock music.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: His voice is mesmerizing. And he was in a concert, like small venue concert. Um, after that you can go and have a signature or take a picture
Rosie: Yeah. Yeah.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: and I was with, now he's my husband, but at that time we were just dating, [00:06:00] so he didn't also, my husband also know me that well back
Rosie: I'm getting nervous. What happens?
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: Okay. The concert is finished.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: It's a small venue, so they have like big
Rosie: Yes. Uh huh. Psst!
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: hands or have a signature. I'm standing in the line, can't wait, arrived there and I realized he's so far sitting behind that table, the big table. So what did I do? jumped on the table, I sat on
Rosie: So, so, Oh, he
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: looked at me like, what
Rosie: probably thought you were crazy. Yeah.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: he was scared. Like, am I attacking him? Jumping on the table? It's like, what? Christ. Like my, I [00:07:00] was blank back then. I have no idea. How did I do this? I was
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: desperate to have a picture with him. I don't even know where the picture is.
Rosie: Oh my god.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: Oh, that was so embarrassing. I feel like when he goes on interviews and people ask him, what's the craziest fan you've met? He will mention me.
Rosie: Don't give yourself so much credit.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: Oh yeah. Again, here you are. To destroy my, destroy me. It was
Rosie: You're crazy. Your craziness has never left. You're like, you're a feisty one. You're confident. You know, old ladies are staring at you. What do you want me for? There's a hot superstar. Ooh, I'm just going to jump on the table and, you know, do a sexy pose, get a photo. And I'm not even going to keep it. I'm that confident.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: and I think that my husband back then looked at me [00:08:00] like. I'm so embarrassed by her. do I go? And I'm asking her, take a picture, take a picture! Poor
Rosie: Poor guy.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: guy. Oh, but the good thing, he doesn't probably even remember, so after he listens to this episode, he will know. Oh, goodness. Yeah. Do you have any more embarrassing moments you've gone through?
Rosie: I feel like I embarrass myself every day. I'm just such a, uh, what am I? I was going to say a clumsy, uncoordinated kind of person. I just, sometimes I don't think, and I just do stuff, but
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: you react when you do something, like you think, oh,
Rosie: when I'm by myself, I just cannot stop thinking about my, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, why did I do that? What are they going to think of me? It's always me worrying about how the other person's going to react. It's not really embarrassing for how I see myself. It's embarrassing for. [00:09:00] how I think other people are going to see me.
Rosie: Why do we care so much? Like, was it really embarrassing to sit on a table and strike a pose?
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: Well, yeah, actually it was. It was invading
Rosie: who?
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: They put
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: to avoid, to avoid that people. You know, I think the goal of that table was to keep distance. This is
Rosie: Clearly not for you. Yeah.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: No, clearly not. Not a table.
Rosie: Table's not going to stop you.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: Yes, yes. Well, you know, when we do something embarrassing, um, Probably others, not my situation, but in many cases, probably the other persons did not even notice.
Rosie: You reckon?
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: Or if you never, if you don't know these people and they'll never see you again,
Rosie: What's it matter? Yeah. I wish I didn't feel embarrassment, but I do. It's not a nice [00:10:00] feeling. It's not nice.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: Are you gonna go into the shop again, just alone, walk around and leave, too?
Rosie: I go to this shop all the time. It's one of my favorite shops. So yeah, they'll see me again.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: okay, okay.
Rosie: I just might not get the job.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: And remember, if you get this job at the hardware shop and someone, you saw someone lost standing there, go and ask them how you can help them.
Rosie: Oh my God.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: This brings us
Rosie: See how they react.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: See how they react. Yes. All right. All right. Um, yeah, that was a light episode and I hope that people will think back to their embarrassing moments and laugh at them like we do.
Rosie: Maybe send one into us too. I need a laugh. I need a ruffle.
Roula -The Rosie & Roula Show: Yes, we would need the ruffle. Let us ruffle. Thank you for listening. Bye!
